Former Ghana Football Association Communications Director, Ibrahim Saanie Daara, confimrs that Eddie Nketiah was rejected at the Black Starlets when he wanted to join the team.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) have confirmed that Mohammed Salisu, Inaki Williams, Tariq Lamptey, Patrick Pfeifer are all available to feature for the Black Stars.
Eddie Nketiah is one of the players that the GFA has been in talks with to convince him to represent the Ghana national team.
The 23-year-old confirmed that he's yet to make a final decision whether to switch to Ghana or represent the Three Lions of England in the midst of his contract standoff with Arsenal.
However, the striker has signed a new-long term contract with the Gunners.
Ghana will participate in their fourth world cup appearance in Qatar and have been drawn with Uruguay, South Korea and Portugal.
Nketiah was rejected at Ghana U-17, according to Saanie Daara.
"I am also aware that players like Eddie Nketiah came to the Ghana U-17 team and was told that he was not cut for it several years ago," he told JoySports.
Ghana is at the summit of 2023 African cup of Nations qualifiers group E with four points after beating Madagascar and a stalemate with Central African Republic.
