Asante Kotoko star Emmanuel Antwi has reacted to his side's Democracy Cup win after lifting his first trophy with the Porcupines.

The Porcupines trounced over fierce rivals Hearts of Oak in a power-packed encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Antwi, concluding his debut game as a Porcupine Warrior with a trophy, thanked the fans for helping energise the players.

On X a few hours after hoisting the historic trophy above his head, Antwi said; "Democracy Cup won. Thank you for the love and support."

In a thrilling face-off, Kotoko broke the deadlock from a spot-kick in the first half through Justice Blay but Hearts of Oak's new lad Asamoah Boateng Afriyie responded swiftly with an equalizer.

Peter Amidu Acquah scored the winner on the hour mark with a brutal stunner following an error from Michael Osei Asibey.

In the meantime, Kotoko will return to Kumasi today (Thursday) to continue getting ready ahead of the 2024-25 football season.
