The race for Ghana Premier League qualification is heading for an EPIC conclusion on the final day of the season on Friday, May 30.
Former Premier League clubs Real Tamale United (RTU) and Techiman Eleven Wonders will battle it out in an eagerly awaited playoff clash at the nations Wembley — the Accra Sports Stadium.
Both sides are topping their separate zones in the Access Bank Division One League, preparing the ground for a nerve cracking showdown to decide which club will qualify for Ghana's top tier division.
Cranking the Stats
RTU are enjoying a powerful revival in Zone One A — having been relegated last season after an abysmal Premier League campaign that left them concluding the season with just 31 points from 34 games.
The Pride of the North wrapped up the DOL season as the highest side with the most goals in the zone—scoring a phenomenal 58 points and conceding just 21, also coming up with the strongest defensive record.
On the other hand, in Zone One B, Techiman Eleven Wonders who suffered relegation from the top flight three seasons ago, are also inspired to swell back to the Premier League.
The Sure Wonders are sitting top of Zone One B with 53 points, less than RTU's 58 points. Even though they scored less (42), conceding more than the Pride of the North, their consistent performance and steadiness during games has invigorated their faith in securing qualification.
RTU annexed 18 wins in their 28 rounds of league matches this season, succumbing to just six defeats, while the Sure Wonders triumphed 15 times and lost only five games, labelling both clubs intense and difficult to predict as any can rack up the qualification slot.
