Korley Laryea, a former player for Great Olympics, has put forward a suggestion to invigorate interest in the Ghana Premier League by integrating domestic league players into the national team, the Black Stars.

Laryea's proposal comes at a time when concerns linger over declining fan engagement with the local league over the past few seasons. While some attribute this waning interest to perceived decreases in quality, Laryea holds a different perspective.

He advocates for the inclusion of local players in the national team, asserting that their involvement would reignite excitement and draw larger crowds to stadium matches.

In emphasizing his point, Laryea stated, "When Hearts are playing Kotoko and have about two players in the national team, it will bring the crowd to come and watch the match." He further emphasized.

“If Kotoko has about two or three players in the national team, Bofoakwa as well, they call supporters from home to come and watch the matches. Our local players are also good."

By leveraging the presence of local talent in the national team, Laryea believes that interest and support for domestic league matches can be revitalized, fostering a more vibrant football culture within the country.
