Former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan recently addressed rumors surrounding an alleged altercation involving midfielder Sulley Muntari and team official Moses Amah 'Parker' during the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

Contrary to reports suggesting physical assault by Muntari on Parker over disputes about appearance fees, Gyan clarified during an interview on Onua TV's Onua Maakye show that Muntari did not slap Parker. "Sulley [Muntari] never slapped anybody," Gyan emphasized.

While Gyan refrained from providing further details, he underscored that Muntari was not involved in any such incident.

Muntari faced disciplinary action and was expelled from the team's camp for indiscipline following the reported altercation. This expulsion marked a significant event in his international career, as he was not called up again until his retirement from international football.

Despite the strained relations between Muntari and Parker, they have since reconciled, as evidenced by a picture of their unity during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

In a related incident, Ghana exited the 2014 tournament at the group stage for the first time, losing to Portugal in their final group game.

Gyan also confirmed a previous disciplinary incident involving Kevin-Prince Boateng, who had verbally assaulted then-coach James Kwesi Appiah. Boateng's case, according to Gyan, was handled by the coach, who felt disrespected by Boateng's choice of words.

As a result of the incident, Boateng did not earn a call-up to the national team for subsequent matches.
