Former captain of the Black Stars, Asamoah Gyan has stated that he foresaw his first FIFA World Cup goal in 2006.
The legendary goal dangler scored the fifth fastest goal in the history of the tournament against the Czech Republic which he scored at a 1minute 08 seconds.
In a face-to-face chat with Captain Smart on Onua TV on Monday, April 15, 2024, Baby Jet as he's widely known said he was determined he was going to score.
“I predicted this goal. I told my brother [Baffour Gyan]. When we lost the first game to Italy, he was coming back to Ghana so I told him to tell Ghanaians that I will score but I never thought it was going to come that early. After that I assisted Sulley [Muntari] to score the second goal.”
Gyan went on to notch five more goals at two more FIFA World Cups, in South Africa 2010 and Brazil 2014 to become the highest-scoring African player in the history of the global showpiece.
