Life patron and owner of Asante Kotoko SC, His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, is set to announce the appointment of a new board to take charge of the club, replacing the Interim Management Committee (IMC) headed by Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awua.
The IMC has been steering the affairs of the Ghana Premier League giants since the dissolution of the Kwame Kyei-led board by the club's owner in 2023.
However, Kickgh.com can exclusively report that the top hierarchy of Asante Kotoko is unsatisfied with the management of the club under the IMC and is expected to dissolve it next month.
This dissolution of the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of Asante Kotoko comes following its inability to generate funds internally to run the Kumasi-based outfit in the last three years.
Kickgh.com can also exclusively report that a new board led by business moguls Mr. Kwasi Osei Ofori and Dr. Kofi Amoa-Abban will be constituted to announce its management team to run the club for the next five years.
Mr. Osei Ofori and Dr. Kofi Amoa-Abban were members of the previous board of Asante Kotoko, which was dissolved by the club's owner and life patron in 2023 due to a long-standing rift between the board members and the management led by Nana Yaw Amponsah.
It will be recalled that the duo contributed immensely during their time as board members, where a leaked financial document confirmed that they invested over Gh¢2,000,000 in the club and also gifted cars to the club's technical team.
