St Johnstone Manager Simo Valakari has confirmed that the club will not be pursuing a move for Ghanaian trialist Dennis Korsah, stating that they are well-stocked at left-back.

The four-times-capped Ghana international, Dennis Korsah, arrived at McDiarmid Park in late October for a trial arranged by former manager Craig Levein.

However, the recent signing of experienced left-back Barry Douglas, who has previously played for Dundee United, Lech Poznań, and Leeds United, has effectively ended Korsah's prospects of securing a deal with St Johnstone.

Valakari has stated that, barring an emergency, Douglas will be the club’s final free-agent acquisition ahead of the January transfer window.

Valakari believes there is no immediate need for additional reinforcements, and any further signings will only be considered in an emergency situation.

“In this moment, (at left-back) we have Barry (Douglas) and we have Andre (Raymond) as well," he said as per The Courier.

“We will have become too heavy for one position so there was no point. Dennis will find a team.

“It was all about the time, it wasn’t for us. I think that will be us until the window opens now.

“It would be very hard to find any more free agents at this stage. Only in an emergency if we are out of everything in one position. But I think that’s us for now.”

Korsah departed from Ghanaian giants Accra Hearts of Oak at the start of the 2024/25 season after fulfilling his contract. Having joined the Phobians in 2022 from Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs, he played a pivotal role in the club's success, contributing to their FA Cup and President's Cup victories during his debut season.
