Bibiani Goldstars have advanced to the round of 16 of the MTN FA Cup with an important 0-1 away win over Basake Holy Stars at the AAK Park.
The game was really a crunchy one between two topflight sides who ensured they sold a great football to the supporters right from onset.
The Miners started on a great note and made sure they made good use of their early chances and opened the scoring account in the 13th minute through Abdul Farouk Amoaful.
Having held onto their lead till half-time, Holy Stars returned on a higher note and mounted so much pressure from different angles in search of the equalizer but all their efforts proved futile.
The Yellows on the other hand were very compact and resolute having ensured they protected their backline very well to avoid conceding a goal as it finished 1-0 after full time.
Bibiani Goldstars are through to the round of 16 of the FA Cup and will get to know of their next opponents in the coming weeks.
