Asante Kotoko coach Abdul Karim Zito has stirred the pot ahead of the highly-anticipated FA Cup final, boldly claiming it would be “pathetic” for a bigger club like Kotoko to lose to minnows Golden Kick SC.

Speaking in the buildup to Sunday’s clash, Zito didn’t hold back as he laid bare the pressure on the Porcupine Warriors to deliver silverware in what’s been a rollercoaster season.

“It will be very pathetic; people will not understand [and that is football] if a bigger club loses to a smaller club. So, as I said from the beginning, I can’t come out and tell you exactly what I will do, but I know what to do depending on what I want,” Zito said

Kotoko, who are gunning for redemption after a disappointing league campaign, are heavy favourites heading into the showdown at the University of Ghana Stadium. But Zito insists that complacency won’t be tolerated, warning his players that there’s no room for slip-ups.

Golden Kick, who have stunned several top-tier teams en route to the final, will be out to pull off one of the biggest upsets in Ghanaian football history.

But Zito believes Kotoko’s pedigree and big-game experience will shine through.

All eyes will be on Legon this Sunday, as the FA Cup final kicks off at 5 PM between Kotoko and Golden Kick.
