Golden Kick chairman Joseph Kwabena Epson is confident his side can go all the way to win the 2024 MTN FA Cup, regardless of who awaits in the final.
The Division One League Zone Three side has stunned many with their remarkable run in the competition, eliminating Ghana Premier League heavyweights along the way.
Golden Kick will face Attram De Visser in the first semifinal on Saturday, May 10, at the TNA Stadium, hoping to take another major step toward the title.
Epson, speaking to Asempa FM, expressed his belief in the team’s ability to overcome any opponent, citing their victories over Premier League sides as evidence of their readiness for the big stage.
“We’re not afraid to face any team in the final. We’ve already played two Premier League clubs—one of them is Hearts of Oak, one of the best teams in Ghana. If we could beat Hearts, it wouldn’t be news if we beat Kotoko or Berekum Chelsea,” he said.
Golden Kick have been rock-solid defensively throughout the competition, playing five matches, scoring four goals, and keeping four clean sheets. Their run has included memorable wins over record FA Cup winners Hearts of Oak and top-flight side Karela United.
Their semifinal opponents, Attram De Visser, have also enjoyed a strong campaign, scoring five goals and conceding three. They reached this stage after eliminating Bibiani Gold Stars in the Round of 16 and will be looking to continue their own fairytale journey.
The winner of Saturday’s semifinal will book a place in the final, where they could face either Asante Kotoko or Berekum Chelsea in the final.
