The National Sports Authority (NSA) has officially regained control of the historic Kaladan Park and its surrounding land in Tamale, following a prolonged legal battle.

The reclaimed land, equivalent in size to five football pitches, is now under the full jurisdiction of the NSA, unlocking opportunities for major development projects aimed at revitalizing sports infrastructure in the Northern Region.

NSA Director General Yaw Ampofo Ankrah toured the facility during a recent working visit to the region, where he assessed the current state of sports infrastructure and held discussions on potential redevelopment plans.

Chief Director of the NSA, Alhaji Abubakar Mahamoud, confirmed the successful outcome of the legal process, describing it as a key victory that clears the path for strategic investments and long-term transformation.

The return of the iconic "sakora pitch"—once a revered home ground for Real Tamale United—represents a significant step in the NSA’s broader RESET agenda aimed at rejuvenating dormant sports facilities across the country.

The authority is currently working to complete documentation and attract investors to turn the area into a vibrant hub for sports and community engagement.
