Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kurt E.S Okraku, has congratulated both Medeama SC and Dreams FC after fighting hard to book a spot in the money zone of the 2023/24 CAF inter-club competitions. 

The two clubs won the Ghana Premier League and FA Cup last season respectively and had the opportunities to represent the country in Africa and for the first time- they have both advanced into the main competition.

Medeama SC started the qualifying round taking out Nigerian side Remo Stars FC before finally sealing the group stage spot officially last Saturday after winning the tie 4-3 on aggregate over Guinean giants Horoya AC despite losing in Conakry.

The Ghanaian champions after achieving this feet, have now halted the country's twelve-year record of not having any club cruise into the money zone since Berekum Chelsea did in 2012.

Also, Dreams FC after winning over Milo FC, wrapped up everything with another 3-2 on aggregate victory over Sierra Leone fold FC Kallon in Monrovia to qualify in their first ever Africa appearance.

The 'Still Believe' lads have also broken the four-year jinx of no Ghanaian outfit making it into the group phase of the Confederations Cup since Asante Kotoko in 2019.

With this, GFA boss Kurt Okraku took to his official Facebook handle to congratulate both teams. He wrote;

"Congratulations to both Medeama Sc and Dreams Fc for qualifying to the group stage of their various CAF competitions. Ayekoooo."
