Ghana Football Association President, Kurt Okraku upon hearing the sad passing of Legon Cities goalkeeper Sylvester Sackey, has on behalf of the GFA, sent their condolences to the player's club and family.
The enterprising goalie was confirmed dead tragically on Tuesday evening after short illness- a development which came as a huge shock to the entire Ghanaian football fans.
He was the Royals first choice last season, with 26 appearances in the league and played a huge part in helping the team secure survival.
In a post on Facebook, condolences and heartfelt messages was sent to his Legon Cities and family and wished him well in his next endeavor.
"The Football Fraternity was, last night, rocked with the news of the passing of Sylvester Sackey, Goalkeeper of Legon Cities Football club. We, at the Ghana Football Association, extend our heartfelt condolences to our affiliated member, Legon Cities Football Club, and to the family of our late talented footballer."
"We stand with Legon Cities FC and the family in this time of deep loss and grief and pray that you be comforted by the Almighty. It is our hope and prayer that the dearly beloved and departed Sylvester Sackey finds peaceful repose with His Maker. Rest well, Goalkeeper Sylvester Sackey."
