Ghanaian international Alexander Djiku has expressed his joy following the national team's win over Liberia.

The highly-regarded defender was part of the starting lineup for the Black Stars on Tuesday, September 12, when they faced the Lone Stars of Liberia in an international friendly held at the Accra Sports Stadium.

In the absence of key players like Andre Ayew, Thomas Partey, Daniel Amartey, and Jordan Ayew, Alexander Djiku was entrusted with the captain's armband for the friendly match.

Having played a solid 45 minutes, Alexander Djiku contributed to the Black Stars' well-deserved 3-1 victory at the end of the 90 minutes.

In a post on social media following the game, the defender expressed his immense pride in leading Ghana as the national team's captain.

“Congrats to the team for this victory..It's a great honor for me to be captain,” Alexander Djiku said in a post on X.
