The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has granted approval for Asante Kotoko to travel to South Africa for a high-profile pre-season friendly against Kaizer Chiefs, the domestic football governing body have announced.
The match, scheduled for Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium as part of the Toyota Cup, forms a key component of Kotoko’s build-up to the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League campaign and their CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
The encounter will renew a historic rivalry between two of Africa’s most decorated clubs and is expected to attract significant attention from fans across the continent.
Kotoko’s management expressed gratitude to the GFA for the green light, calling the game an important step in building international partnerships and testing their squad against elite opposition.
