Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association(GFA), Henry Asante Twum believes that inconsistencies in the results of Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak are the cause of the low stadium patronage in the Ghana Premier League(GPL), as he charges the club's to winning convincingly.
Stadium attendance hasn't been encouraging in the GPL and it has been a major concern for all stakeholders involved in the game.
Low competitiveness, poor refereeing, poor pitch or stadium maintenance among others have been blamed for the situation.
But Henry Asante Twum believes that Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak must start winning convincingly to attract supporters to the stadium.
"Hearts of Oak and Kotoko will only attract the numbers when they are doing well," he told Akoma FM.
"Two seasons ago, Hearts played Kotoko at the Accra sports stadium and the stadium was almost full as at 11 am and this happened because both clubs were winning continuously, we can't say the same today, the only thing that can attract their fans is the results.
"But when you are inconsistent with your results, the fans will not come. Aside Kotoko beating Kotoku Royals and Accra Lions, tell me any other game they played convincingly to win.
"Same with Hearts, the clubs must start winning convincingly and consistently, you cannot struggle to win and expect the fans to fill the stadium.
"They (Kotoko and Hearts) must start winning convincingly and consistently, by so doing, the fans will come in their numbers," he explained.
