Henry Asante Twum, the Communication Manager of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has officially announced that Ameenu Shardow will retain his position as the Team Manager of the Black Stars.
Shardow assumed the role of Team Manager for the senior national team following Chris Hughton's appointment in March 2022.
In the wake of the Black Stars' underwhelming performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast, the GFA initiated various changes as part of the team's restructuring.
Addressing the developments on Asempa FM, Asante Twum acknowledged the extensive alterations made but stressed Shardow's continued role as Team Manager.
"There have been numerous adjustments to the team that competed in Ivory Coast for the AFCON. The Ghana Football Association (GFA) deemed this necessary as part of the restructuring process," he stated.
"Changes have been made across various aspects, including the team's medical staff, physiotherapists, and technical team. However, Ameenu Shardow has been maintained in his role as Team Manager, and he is currently accompanying the team in Morocco for the upcoming matches," he added.
The Black Stars are set to confront Nigeria and Uganda on March 22 and 26, respectively, in the March international fixtures at the Stade de Marrakesh.
With Otto Addo reinstated as the Black Stars coach on a 34-month contract, the team aims to kickstart his second tenure with positive results.
