Former Bibiani Gold Stars coach, Michael Osei has charged new Black Stars head coach Otto Addo to build a strong team for the future.

The former Ghana international has returned to honor his second spell with the Black Stars, replacing Chris Hughton, who was relieved of his duties following the team's terrible performance at the 2023 Nations Cup in Ivory Coast.

Per an audio aired on Kessben FM, Osei highlighted the need for the former Ghana international to build a formidable team that can compete for laurels in the future.

“We don’t have to aim for trophies at the moment. We need to build a formidable team under Otto Addo. Luckily, we have a lot of young players like Kudus Mohammed, Joseph Paintsil, Kamaldeen, Ashimeru and others. So I think we can build the team around these young players for the future” he said.

The former Asante Kotoko coach was one of the local coaches that applied for the Black Stars job but was not considered for the top job.

Ghana will play the Super Eagles of Nigeria and Uganda in an international friendly matches. The Black Stars will clash with Nigeria on Friday, March 22 before taking on the Cranes on March 26, 2024.
