The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is said to be gearing-up to hire Accra Lions and Asante Kotoko gaffers Ibrahim Tanko and Prosper Ogum for the vacant Black Stars assistant coaching job.

This is coming after the lackluster performance of the team during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, where the GFA was compelled to sack Chris Hughton and the entire technical team of the Black Stars.

The Black Stars crashed out of the tournament from the group stage after pulling a poor run of results.

According to a Kessben FM report, some power brokers of the FA have expressed their admiration for indigenous coaches as against expatriates, insisting they are more effective as the decision to bring onboard coach Tanko and Ogum will be tailored in the best interest of the team.

However, the domestic Football governing body has disclosed it will provide a roadmap for the future direction of the Black Stars in the coming days.
