Former Ghana international, Prince Tagoe, has stated that Ghana can produce talented players like Lamine Yamal if it rolls-out a long lasting development plan and invests hugely in the development of Grade-A infrastructures.
At just 16 - Yamal, a Equatoguinean and Moroccan descent, alongside Nice Williams has taken the 2024 European Championship by storm, dishing out mind-blowing performance in Spain's journey to the final.
Yamal has made a significant impact, scoring a goal and recording three assists in the ongoing Euro tournament.
Meanwhile, Tagoe believes that Ghana can emulate Spain's approach and take a cue as the nation is blessed with loads of football talents capable of grabbing global attention.
"He (Lamine Yamal) is a very good player. His performances shouldn't surprise you because they have put good infrastructure in place from the beginning and that’s why everything is falling into place for them,” Tagoe said on Angel TV.
“When talents like this come up, you have to know that their foundation is very solid. If we were also doing the same things, definitely, we’d also have players who are like Yamal.
“We don’t need to be pretending to be putting in place quality infrastructure like stadiums without really putting in the work. They have quality training from the beginning and the system also works.”
