Ghana's Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton has invited Sweden Allsvenskan side Elfsborg midfielder Michael Baidoo his maiden call-up ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Ivory Coast next year January. 

 

At the youthful age of 24, Baidoo has etched his name onto the footballing stage, garnering recognition both domestically and internationally for his stellar performances. His journey commenced with Ghanaian club Vision FC before taking an international turn in 2018 when he joined Danish club Midtjylland.

However, it was his move to IF Elfsborg in January 2022 that marked a significant turning point in Baidoo's career. Securing a lucrative four-year contract with the Swedish powerhouse, the midfielder established himself as a maestro within the IF Elfsborg ranks.

The 2022/23 Allsvenskan season became a showcase of Baidoo's football prowess as he netted an impressive eight goals in 21 appearances, adding two crucial assists to his name.
