The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association will hold a crucial meeting this Friday to decide on the next head coach of the Ghana senior men national team.

The four-time African champions have been without a substantive coach for weeks now following the dismissal of Otto Addo after Ghana’s games against Austria and Germany during the March international window.

Several high-profile names have been linked to the vacant role, including Paulo Bento and Fernando Santos, who guided Portugal to victory at UEFA Euro 2016. Other candidates are also believed to be under consideration.

Reports indicate that the GFA has completed the interview process and Friday’s meeting will focus on assessing the outcomes before selecting the right candidate for the job.

The decision comes at a critical time, with Ghana needing a new coach urgently to prepare for upcoming international friendlies against Mexico and Wales.

The Black Stars have also been drawn in Group L of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where they will face England, Croatia and Panama, making the appointment even more crucial ahead of the Mundial.
