Ghana football legend Michael Essien has urged greater care and support for Mohammed Kudus, describing him as one of the country’s most important players.
Speaking about the need to guide top talents, said Kudus plays an important role in the Black Stars and needs the right environment to succeed.
“Kudus is one of the biggest talents and for Ghana, he’s our star. We have to protect him and give him all the love and confidence he needs,” he said.
Kudus has become a central figure for the national team in recent years, earning praise for his creativity, skill and ability to decide matches. His performances for both club and country have strengthened his reputation as a player capable of leading Ghana’s ambitions on the international stage.
Essien’s comments come at a time when expectations are rising around the midfielder’s return from injury, with fans hoping he will be fit again soon as Ghana prepares for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The 24-year-old has been sidelined for some time but is expected to return by the end of April.
Essien added that players like Kudus need strong support and good management to reach their full potential, especially as Ghana builds for the future.
