In-form Ghanaian forward, Joseph Paintsil has disclosed that head coach Chris Hughton is dedicated to building a team capable of winning titles.
Following Otto Addo's departure after the 2022 World Cup, Hughton signed a 21-month contract as the Black Stars' head coach in March.
Ghana secured four critical points in their doubleheader against Angola, thanks to Hughton's guidance, which helped them qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Paintsil, who played a vital role in the AFCON qualifiers, praised the veteran coach's abilities and stated that Hughton's ultimate aim is to transform the team into a championship-winning squad.
“He [Chris Hughton] is a very good coach,” Paintsil said. “I hope that he helps us in terms of growing as a team. He intends to build us to win trophies in the future,” he added, according to Footballghana.
The Black Stars' last major trophy was the AFCON championship, which they won in 1982.
Paintsil has scored 16 goals and provided 14 assists in 35 games, recording the most goal contributions of any African player in Europe, with 30.
