Bechem United gaffer, Kasim Ocansey Mingle isn't happy with how home-based players are treated in the Black Stars and has called for much playing time for them.
Coach Otto Addo this morning, released 33 man squad for the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and the Kirin Cup tournament which is all due to be honoured next month.
Two local players were added to the list and those include Hearts of Oak's Daniel Afriyie Barnieh and Augustine Okrah of Bechem United- who has 14 goals so far in the league, leaving him third currently on the top scoring chat.
Speaking to Kumasi-based Akoma FM, the talent developer has told the Black Stars technical team to be fair to the local players in the squad and believe they deserve much playing time, describing most of the foreign-based as bench warmers. He said;
"At national teams, no one has automatic place. But it's unfortunate when these (local players) get invited, they are not given the chance to play, they don't even get call ups again."
"Foreign players who don't get playing time but only warm the bench should lose their positions to the local players who are playing regularly."
Ghana will face the Bareas of Madagascar on June 1, 2022 and will travel to Central African Republic in couple of days time for their second game in the qualifiers.
