Mark Addo has praised the Black Princesses following their impressive qualification for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
The Ghana Football Association vice president also assured the team of continued support from both the government and the FA as they prepare for the tournament.
“What this team has achieved is no small feat. When the odds were against you, a goal down and a player sent off, your resilience and hard work delivered the result that secured World Cup qualification,” he said.
Addo praised the team for reaching the competition for the eighth straight time and urged the players to aim higher at the tournament.
“This team has done remarkably well by qualifying for eight consecutive World Cups. Now is the time to go and perform, and to go beyond the group stage,” he added.
“Take time to enjoy this moment for a few days, but the real work begins now ahead of September when the World Cup starts.”
He also congratulated the team on behalf of Kurt E. S. Okraku, the GFA Executive Council and Ghanaians.
“On behalf of President Kurt E.S. Okraku, the Executive Council, and the entire nation, we are proud of you. Congratulations on this historic achievement.”
The FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup will be held in Poland from September 5 to September 27, 2026.
