Ghanaian goalkeeper Richard Ofori has conveyed a commitment to a resurgence for the Black Stars, assuring Ghanaians that the team will work diligently to regain their form following the disappointments at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
In an Instagram post, Ofori expressed sincere apologies to the people of Ghana for the team's subpar performances during the tournament held in Ivory Coast.
“To the wonderful people of Ghana, I humbly extend my heartfelt apologies for our team's performance at AFCON. As a collective, we fell short. We gave our all in previous games, and it pains me that we couldn't achieve the desired result in the end,” shared Richard Ofori.
The goalkeeper continued, “I want to express our gratitude for your unwavering support and reassure you that we love God and are committed to learning from this experience. We promise to work harder, address our mistakes, and strive for a better outcome in the future. Your understanding means the world to us.”
Following Ghana's exit from the 2023 AFCON, Richard Ofori faced criticism from many Ghanaians, who deemed his performance for the Black Stars as below par. Despite the calls for him to be kept away from the national team, Ofori remains determined to contribute to the team's improvement.
