Group Chief Executive Officer of DataBank Group, Kojo Addae-Mensah has reacted to issues pertaining to betting and match-fixing in the Ghana Premier League which was raised by Executive Chairman of McDan Group, Daniel McKorley.

McKorley, an astute business mogul, confirmed his willingness to sponsor the Ghana Premier League but raised concerns of match fixing and gambling.

Speaking to Asempa FM, Addae-Mensah addressed the issue, saying; "We don't have clear evidence, but there's no smoke without fire."

The accomplished banker reiterated the need to discourage players and club administrators from partaking in betting schemes. "Betting cannot be prevented, but we should have laws and frameworks to make those involved think twice."

Mensah admonished that without stringent measures, the game could crumble, citing examples from the cricket world where players have been caught in betting scandals. He called to mind that while betting is a consequential industry globally, it is essential to synchronize it adequately to protect the credibility of the sport.
