Black Stars Assistant gaffer, Mas-ud Didi Dramani, says Lawrence Ati Zigi was one of our best players and insists that he made a lot of good saves at the Kirin tournament.

The St. Gallen shot-stopper has come under heavy criticism after conceding four goals against Japan in the first game of the four nation tournament, Kirin cup, in Japan.

Ghana finished third in the tournament after beating Chile on Penalties.

Ati Zigi is yet to convince supporters and connoisseurs alike since making his debut for the four-time AFCON champions in 2018.

Ghana are in the same group with Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea in the world cup, Qatar 2022.

Didi Dramani insists that Ati Zigi was among Black Stars best players in the Tournament and reveals that the decision to bench him had nothing to do with his performance.

"Nothing happened to him. He was one of our best players in the game," Didi Dramani told Ghana Sports page.

"Nothing happened to him, he was in good form and the fact that we didn’t use him in the second game has nothing to do with that game."

"I am telling you that there was nothing he did that you will say his decisions are questionable."

"He was in his best form. He made a lot of good positions and good saves. In terms of the first half, there were so many positives. I am not in an interview to decide on who did what, no," he insisted.
