Accra Hearts of Oak have adopted Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi as home venue for their remaining games in the first round of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season, Kickgh.com can exclusively confirm.

Management of Hearts of Oak have opted to move their home games to Kumasi following the closure of the Accra Sports Stadium by the National Sports Authority (NSA) during the festivities period.

The National Sports Authority in a letter to Accra Hearts of Oak, Accra Great Olympics and Accra Lions said the facility in the nation's capital will be unavailable for football activities in December and asked the clubs to opt for their alternative venues.

However, the Cape Coast Sports Stadium which is the alternative venue of Hearts of Oak has also been declared unfit to host sporting activities until further notice by the NSA.

Hearts of Oak have informed the Ghana Football Association (GFA) that the club has decided to move their two home matches — against Asante Kotoko on December 8 and Bechem United on December 29 — to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The Phobians will play as host to their bitterest-rivals, Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League match-week 14 super clash in Kumasi.

Meanwhile, Accra Lions and Accra Great Olympics have moved their respective home matches to the WAFA Park in Sogakope.

Hearts of Oak are currently preparing for their final home game at the Accra Sports Stadium in 2023 against Berekum Chelsea on Sunday, November 26.
