Some supporters of Accra Hearts of Oak are contemplating a boycott of the team's final home game against Bechem United, intending to express their dissatisfaction and embarrassment towards the club's board.
The fans expressed their discontent in response to a post on the club's Facebook page that announced the ticket prices for Sunday's game.
One fan wrote “Send it to ur board and management to pay and watch it themselves wai... Relegation awaits.” Another one also wrote “ Togbe Afede XIV the majority shareholder of Accra Hearts of Oak has collapsed and Destroyed this Great CLUB and I know the founding fathers of this Great Club will not forgive you guys all who are behind this Agenda . If you get even 10 people at the stadium on Sunday, God loves you.”
“Which Fans are you calling to come to the stadium? Call Akambi and his family.” Another retorted. “Akambi, Odotei and Nyaho.” should buy all and go watch. We are minding our own business.” Another quipped.
“Akambi said we can go support any team of our choice. This public show of anger and the demand for change will go down in our wonderful club’s history where fans showed the club where the power lies” Another added
The fans' reaction has been triggered by an audio circulating in the media, purportedly featuring remarks from a board member, Alhaji Braimah Akambi.
The Phobians currently hold the 11th position on the league table with 18 points after participating in 16 games.
