Dansoman-based club Taking Over FC emerged champions of the 2023 Tariq Lamptey Foundation U-15 Tournament which was held over the weekend in the capital, Accra.

This was the third edition and was held last Saturday, December 23, at the La Mcdan Community Astro Turf.

This year's competition was made a little different with much more improvements in some aspect just as organisers pledged to, notably sharing of free foods to people and also, organizing a free health screening program conducted at the venue by well trained medical practitioners.

The competition was a one-day tourney and was graced with some interesting and exciting games which uncovered a pool of talents who were present to prove to the organisers, scouts and all the spectators they have the wherewithal to reach the highest echelon of football.

The invitational tournaments was competed by four juvenile clubs and it was eventual winners Taking Over FC who made it to the final alongside Krowor Youth FC following their scintillating performances in the semi final.

The final was really a crunchy encounter with both teams showcasing to everyone why they were the best two in the competition but it was Taking Over FC that finished as eventual winners with a 2-1 win via penalty shootouts after it had finished 1-1 in regulation time.

Despite not having their hands gripped on the coveted trophy, Krowor Youth's Gabriel Afotey was adjudged the Most Valuable Player whiles Trust FC's Frederick Tsita won the goalking with four goals.

The competition has been in session for three years now and is honoured annually with the main of of hunting and nurturing football talents.
