Accra is buzzing, and it's not just because of the traffic, it's because Hearts of Oak’s shot-stopping sensation Benjamin Asare has just bagged a top individual award, and the Phobian faithful are in full celebration mode.

In a glittering ceremony of the 2025 Ghana Football Awards on Saturday night, Asare was crowned Goalkeeper of the Year, capping off a phenomenal season that saw him keep clean sheets, make world-class saves, and become an immovable wall like the Gwollu slave defense wall between the sticks for the Phobians.

And make no mistake, thinking Hearts of Oak won't make noise about it as they aren’t letting this moment slide quietly.

The Phobians rolled out the red carpet, posting about it on their social media with a glowing statement.

“He Guarded the Goal, and Now He Owns the Crown,” said Hearts of Oak. “Congratulations to our very own Benjamin Asare, your hard work and excellence earn you the title of Goalkeeper of the Year! Phobia is proud of you!,” the message read.”

Asare’s numbers speak for themselves — 16 clean sheets in the league, multiple man-of-the-match awards, and countless match-saving moments that helped Hearts climb the table during a not way too bad season.

Whether it was a fingertip save against Kotoko or commanding his box like a general, Asare emerged as the silent hero in a team of stars.

Phobia fans across Accra and beyond have erupted with praise, flooding timelines and airwaves with love for their No.1:  “We don’t need De Gea, we’ve got Asare,” one fan echoed. “Best in Ghana, no debate, he saved our season. Literally.”
