Ghanaians and Nations FC fans, buckle up because according to the clubs captain Razak Simpson, the best is yet to come from Faisal Charwetey, the young dynamo who's taken the league by storm.

After a breakout campaign that saw Charwetey light up the GPL with dazzling footwork, fearless runs, and crucial goals, Simpson is convinced his teammate is only just warming up.

"He really impacted [the team] so much," Simpson told Citi Sports with a confident grin after winning the Home-Based Player of the Year Award and Goal of the Year Award at the 2025 Ghana Football Awards.

At just 22, Charwetey has become the poster boy for Nations FC’s exciting, attack-minded football. His ability to glide past defenders, pick out inch-perfect passes, and produce match-winning moments has already caught the eyes of top scouts both locally and abroad.

With 12 goals and 2 assists in the recently concluded GPL season, the young goal monger didn’t just make headlines, he made defenders sweat.

"He hasn’t played in the Ghana Premier League before but when he came in, he played so well. You will see him [play] better next season, he’s a top top quality player," Simpson added.
