Alhaji Karim Grusah, owner of King Faisal FC has demanded the resignation of Ghana Football Association (GFA) president Kurt Okraku after the Black Stars 4-2 loss to The Gambia.

Ghana threw away a two-goal lead at the Accra Sports Stadium before conceding four times in their second Group C match of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Grusah, a former member of the Black Stars Management Committee at the 2022 Fifa World Cup in Qatar, was highly critical of the team’s display.

Asked to rate Ghana’s performance against The Gambia, he gave a blunt response: “Zero.”

He then directed his criticism at the GFA leadership and called for Okraku to step aside.

“The GFA President should resign; he’s a liar. He should resign,” Grusah said.

The defeat leaves Ghana without a point from their opening two qualifying matches, having also lost 2-0 to Côte d’Ivoire in Bouaké.

The Black Stars had appeared in control after taking a 2-0 lead against The Gambia but failed to hold on as their opponents completed a remarkable comeback.

Grusah has been a prominent figure in Ghanaian football for several years and has regularly voiced his views on the administration of the game and the performance of the national team.
