Renowned Ghanaian football scout and coach, Ebenezer Sefah, has passionately called for the inclusion of Asante Kotoko’s midfielder, Richmond Lamptey, in the Black Stars squad for the upcoming AFCON tournament in 2023-24.

In an interview on Kessben TV, Sefah highlighted Lamptey's playing style as the missing link in the Black Stars' midfield, asserting that the former WAFA and Inter Allies player surpasses many current starters and substitutes in the national team.

Coach Eben urged the national team management to extend an invitation to Lamptey, emphasizing, “Richmond Lamptey qualifies to be in the Black Stars team. No one can convince me that he can’t play. Unless we don’t want to tell the truth. He’s better than most of the players in the team."

Describing Lamptey as the creative force the team needs, Sefah passionately stated, "His availability in any team makes the difference. He can play and is better than most of the players; I can challenge anyone on this.” His call adds an intriguing perspective to the potential composition of the Black Stars for the upcoming AFCON, as fans await the squad announcement.
