Ghana Football Association (GFA) spokesperson, Henry Asante Twum has disclosed that over 1000 coaches have applied for the vacant Black Stars coaching job.
The domestic football governing body are in a manhunt for a substantive head coach since the departure of Otto Addo.
The Ghana FA launched a call to competent gaffers to apply for the position. However, according to the FA's spokesperson more than 1000 candidates have applied to lead the senior national team.
"Over 1000 coaches have applied for the job. We keep getting applications each and every day", Twum revealed on GHOne TV's State of Affairs show.
Twum went ahead to deny earlier reports that the GFA has shortlisted three coaches; "The job is open for all. Once you are a competent coach. We haven’t made any shortlist and at the right time we will.
"There is pressure to appoint a competent coach. We are not looking at race or color but just a competent coach," he added.
