LA Galaxy star Joseph Paintsil has addressed recent rumors regarding his relationship with Black Stars coach Otto Addo, firmly dismissing claims of any rift between them.
The 26-year-old winger emphasized that he shares a positive and cordial relationship with Addo, despite recent speculations suggesting otherwise.
Paintsil, who had an impressive season with LA Galaxy—scoring 10 goals in the regular season and adding four more in the playoffs to help secure the MLS title—was notably left out of Ghana's squad for the 2022 World Cup. The decision was made without any official explanation from Addo. Since Addo’s return as coach, Paintsil has had limited playing time, totaling just eight minutes, often due to injury or not being selected for the squad.
However, in an exclusive interview with 3Sports, Paintsil clarified the situation, saying, "Otto Addo and I have a nice relationship, not as people think. Otto Addo texts me and asks how I am doing. I have no issues with him. I know he has no issues with me. We have a good relationship."
Paintsil will be looking to make his return to the Black Stars squad for the next match in March 2025.
