Ghana and Athletico Bilbao forward, Inaki Williams has admitted the game against Mexico will be a very tedious one but hopes to get his first goal for the Black Stars in tomorrow's game. 

The 28-year-old was born in Spain to Ghanaian parents, and finally agreed to switch allegiance to play for the Black Stars after series of attempts from the GFA.

He finally debuted in September last year against Brazil and furthered on to play at the 2022 World Cup, but is still yet to score his first goal in the Ghana colours.

However, he is in a very good form and was scoring regularly and giving stellar performances which earned him Laliga Player of the month for September nomination.

He's netted 4 goals and provided 2 assists in 9 matches. Speaking ahead of the game, the lanky forward admitted Mexico are very discipline and have a well-organised side but is very optimistic of having a good game against them.   

‘’For is it’s a very important match. I think the Ghanaian people support us and I am going to do everything in this match to score my first goal’’ Inaki said.

‘’It’s not been easy for me because I don’t have a lot of matches with my team mates but this is football. I enjoy the football; I enjoy the games so I am going to do everything to score my first goal’’. 

"Mexico have very hardworking people with good players. This match won’t be easy but Ghana has got very good players and we are going to fight to win the match’’ he concluded.

The Mexico test is scheduled for 9pm Kick Off (1am Ghana Time) at the Bank of America stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina on Saturday, October 14, 2023.
