Medeama SC arrived in the United States capital, Washington DC a day ago, ahead of their international friendly against Major League Soccer side DC United this weekend. 

The game is dubbed the Capital City Cup- a unique matchup between two historic teams which will magnify the celebration of African culture in Washington, D.C and also part of the activities to celebrate the 2023 Ghana week.

The Mauves and Yellows touched down on the early hours of Thursday and have engaged in some series of activities already including some training sessions at the RFK Field to acclimatize to the weather and others.

Speaking ahead of the game, club Spokesperson Patrick Akoto has given a positive update from their camp, stated everything is going on very well and added that they are looking forward to an exciting game tomorrow.

"So far when we got here everything is calm officials of the Ghana Tourism Authority their CEO himself Mr Akwasi Agyeman was here to see us he came to were we are with his staff," he told Peace FM

"In fact everything is going well the boys have gone to sleep so when we came everything is fine."

"We are looking forward to an exciting experience here in the United States of America we had a good flight everybody is fine."

The game is scheduled for 21:00GMT on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at the Audi Field.
