Ghana international Antoine Semenyo is on cloud nine after winning his first Premier League Player of the month award following his incredible performance in Manchester City's shirt.

The 26-year-old had to beat off competition from Viktor Gyokeres, Dango Ouattara, Benjamin Sesko, Virgil van Dijk and his team-mate Nico O’Reilly to win the prestigious award for the month of Feruary.

Semenyo had an impressive first full month at the Etihad Stadium outfit after joining from AFC Bournemouth in January as he hit the ground running in his first full month at City, scoring three times and providing one assist in five games in February.

The Black Stars forward in an interview with the club's official TV channel Man City TV said clinching the coveted award after joining the Manchester-based club will remain as an unforgettable moment of his football career.

Semenyo also stressed that he believes he is a better player and credited everyone at the club for reaching this far.

“This is a brilliant moment for me. To win the Premier League Player of the Month award so soon after joining City is something I’ll never forget,” Semenyo told the Man City TV

“It’s been such an amazing start to life at this club. I am learning so much every day and I honestly feel I am already a better player.

“I have been made to feel welcome from day one, which means I have been able to stay focused on the pitch and do my best.

“My focus now is on continuing to improve and helping City to achieve the best possible results. We have so much to play for and I am really excited about this final period of the season.”

He becomes the second City player to claim this prize this season, after Erling Haaland in September.

Semenyo has notched up 15 goals and provided four assists in 28 Premier League matches in the ongoing season so far.
