Former Dreams FC defender Zuberu Sharani has decided to represent Togo national football team at international level after changing his sporting nationality.
The left-back, who currently plays for Slovak champions ŠK Slovan Bratislava, has already been included in Togo’s squad for upcoming international friendly matches against Guinea national football team and Niger national football team.
Sharani began his professional career in Ghana with Dreams FC in 2018 before earning a move to AC Sparta Prague in the Czech Republic later that year. Although he did not feature in a league match for the club, the transfer paved the way for further opportunities in European football.
He later joined Slovak side DAC Dunajská Streda, where he established himself as a regular, making 41 league appearances and scoring five goals between 2019 and 2022. During that spell, he also spent time on loan with MFK Zemplín Michalovce.
In 2023, Sharani moved to ŠK Slovan Bratislava, where he has since made close to 50 appearances while contributing a goal for the Slovak giants.
Despite his Ghanaian background, the defender has now committed his international future to Togo national football team and could make his debut in the upcoming friendly fixtures.
