Ghana Football Association President Kurt Edwin Simon Okraku has touched down in Washington DC, USA for the 2026 FIFA World Cup draw which will take place at the John F. Kennedy Center later today.
The Black Stars qualified once again and will be making their fifth appearance at the Mundial after finishing as winners of Group I with eight wins from ten matches.
Kurt Okraku, in 2022, become Ghana’s second FA boss to lead the nation to the Word Cup and has done it once again for an improved performance at the big stage this time around and said this ahead of the draw
"I expect Ghana gets a good group and I expect us to move to the next level of preparations after the draw. I expect us to do well," he said in a video shared on social media
The four-time African champions are expecting a very difficult group and opponents obviously on the back of being in pot 4 ahead of the much-anticipated draw.
The Black Stars looked very improved and upgraded in 2025 with a stunning unbeaten run in six competitive matches where they won five and drew just one.
However, Otto Addo’s men wrapped up the year with two loses against Asian giants Japan and South Korea in the Kirin Cup, all in international friendly
