Vice Chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee, Stephen Appiah, is confident that Ghana has the quality and character to make a significant impact at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Following a difficult campaign in 2024, the Black Stars bounced back to secure qualification for next summer’s tournament, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

With Ghana set to discover their group opponents later today in Washington, DC, Appiah — who famously led the Black Stars to their maiden World Cup appearance in Germany 2006 — believes the current squad is capable of excelling on the global stage.

“The draw for the 2026 World Cup is coming up in December. We are heading to America, Canada, and Mexico,” Appiah said via Betway.
“We have done it before when we went to Germany, and I hope — and I know — that with the calibre of players we have, we are going to make it in the next World Cup.

“Good luck to the team. We need your support and your prayers. See you in America, Mexico, and Canada. Go, Ghana!”

After exiting at the group stage in Qatar 2022, the Black Stars are determined to produce a far stronger performance on the world stage in 2026.
