Ghanaian forward Mohammed Fuseini came off the bench to complete a dominant 3–0 win for Union Saint-Gilloise against KV Mechelen in the Belgian Pro League championship play-offs at the Stade Joseph Marien.

The 22-year-old made his mark in stoppage time, calmly finishing in the 90+2nd minute after being set up by Anouar Aït El Hadj, putting the finishing touch on a polished and dominant performance from the hosts.

Union had already taken full control of the contest long before Fuseini’s late contribution. Mateo Biondić opened the scoring in the 11th minute, converting from a precise assist by Anan Khalaili to give the home side an early and deserved lead.

The dominance continued after the break, with Aït El Hadj doubling the advantage on the hour mark. This time, Biondić turned provider, delivering a well-weighted pass that was calmly finished to put Union firmly in command.

From there, Union controlled the game with authority, restricting Mechelen to just a handful of efforts while creating the clearer chances and winning the expected goals battle comfortably. Fuseini’s introduction added fresh attacking threat, and his late strike highlighted the depth available to head coach David Hubert.

The result extends Union’s strong form, including consecutive wins over Mechelen, and builds momentum ahead of a major test. They now turn their attention to a high-stakes Belgian Cup clash at home against RSC Anderlecht on Thursday, May 14.
