Former Ghana Premier League campaigners, Inter Allies, have secured a qualification to the Ghanaian second-tier league after defeating West African Football Academy (WAFA) SC in the Volta Regional Division 2 Middle League final on Sunday.

Inter Allies suffered demotion to the third-tier league by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) over a match fixing scandal after the 2021/22 season.

The ‘Eleven to One’ lads narrowly missed out on promotion to the Division One League last season after losing to Home Stars FC via penalty shootouts.

Inter Allies secured a consecutive qualification to the Volta Regional Division 2 Middle League playoff final to play against another former Ghana Premier League campaigner, WAFA, in this season's final at the Ho Sports Stadium.

WAFA opened the scoring in the 16th minute and held on to their lead for the end of the first half of the game.

On the 53rd minute, Michael Adjei leveled the score for Inter Allies to force the match into a penalty shootout to determine the winner of the tie.

Inter Allies emerged as winners of the Volta Regional Division Two Middle League final and secured a qualification ticket to play in the 2024–25 Division One League.
