Asante Kotoko head coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum has confessed they played against a very good and strong opposition but they did the most important thing which is to win and to cruise into the next round.
The Porcupine Warriors shoot themselves into the quarter final of the FA Cup with a narrow 1-0 win over Sekondi Eleven Wise in what was an exciting encounter at the Baba Yara Stadium last Wednesday.
It was an open one with both teams putting up some great performances but Elvis Kyei Baffour's first half strike was enough to decide the game after full-time
In a post-match interview, the enterprising tactician described the encounter as a very good one as the two teams played well and further explained into details the tactical approach of their opponents and how they were able to break that to snatch the victory.
“It was a good game where both teams played very well. We tried as much as possible to make sure that we kept possession of the ball and tried to play the ball behind their defensive line because we realized they mostly stayed in a low block or a medium block, so we tried to keep the ball and anytime the opportunity came we played the ball behind them."
"I think both teams played well. The most important thing is that we won and we are moving forward to the next stage of the competition,” Coach Ogum said.
Asante Kotoko after this victory will now face another lower-division side True Democracy FC in the quarter-final of the competition
