Ghana legendary striker Asamoah Gyan has criticized coach Otto Addo's tactical decisions in Black Stars' defeat to Portugal in the 2022 World Cup opening games.

Gyan expressed his displeasure over the 47-year-old gaffer's decision to substitute Kudus Mohammed in the second half of the match which ended 3-2 for Portugal.

Kudus was a delight to watch in Ghana's Group H opener against Portugal after assisting Andre Ayew on the 77th minute to equalize the 65th minute spot-kick converted by Cristiano Ronaldo.

Two-quick goals from Joao Felix and Rafael Leao were enough to secure the Portuguese all the needed points despite a late header from Osman Bukari.

“The decision to substitute Kudus Mohammed was entirely wrong,” Gyan said on SuperSports TV

“This is a player that has just assisted Andre Ayew to score so why do you have to take him off from the game?,” he quizzed

“It was a poor decision because he could have produced a magical moment for the side,”

Ghana will continue their campaign with games against South Korea and Uruguay in Group H.
