Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has expressed his appreciation for playing alongside Jordan Ayew following the latter’s recent move to Leicester City.

Ayew joined Leicester City this summer after a lengthy tenure with Crystal Palace, bolstering the squad’s strength as they return to the Premier League. Issahaku, who has teamed up with Ayew in both club and national team settings, values the experience and mentorship Ayew brings.

"He [Jordan Ayew] is always a senior player and I love playing with him. He always guides and gives you more advice and even outside and inside [on] the pitch so I’m happy," Issahaku told the media during the team's first training session on Thursday. "I think it’s going to be easier for me playing with him both in the national team and club."

The duo has already started collaborating in Leicester’s first four games of the season and is now gearing up for the Black Stars' 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Ghana will face Angola on September 5 at the Baba Yara Stadium and then play against Niger in Berkane, Morocco on September 9.
